Welcome to Ryder Duncan's World! Herein you will find my ramblings, my obsessions,
and all manner of other things; all organized in a system of interrelated blogs. In
time, the site will expand as I add more pages. For now, I've got enough on my plate
as it is. Have at it!
This is the fifth iteration of the homepage, and the third in the glass frame series.
Transparency is handled by RGBa now, though in Internet Explorer I'm retaining the
legacy alpha filter support. Browsers older than Firefox 3.0, Opera 10.0, or Safari 3
will now fail to properly display the glass frame, unfortunately, but I'm making this
change because RGBa is the future and the standard "opacity" attribute is woefully buggy
in Opera. Also, if you use Internet Explorer, you're out of luck—no rounded corners
or shadows for you.
So far, there are six different sections. You can access them via those links to
the right. Here's the rundown:
- My personal All-Purpose Blog is where I make all my general observations
about the day, my upcoming plans, and site progress—this one is updated most
frequently of all the blogs in the system.
- The Musical Box is a music review/discussion blog. Don't let the name fool
you; I deal with much more than just Genesis (though that is my favorite band
of all time).
- Rydertech is a tech-centered blog. I'm a geek, so I delight in this sort of
thing, and since I usually blog about it in places where nobody really cares to read it,
I figured I'd finally set up a dedicated center for all my technology ramblings.
- Lampoon Lately is a blog devoted to all the utter crap the Internet has to
offer. Stupid videos, dumb pictures, and other ridiculous things get the pithy,
satirical commentary they deserve.
- The Listening Room is where I'll post links to my work—I have a
growing collection of YouTube videos detailing my studio equipment (hardware and
software), and of course my own music will be featured. Additionally, there will
be some audiophile discussions.
- Words Of Wisdom (previously not given an abstract due to an oversight on my
part) is an experimental section wherein I list little nuggets of wisdom I come up with,
or else observations and other assorted bits of wit.
As the site is in its infancy, it's bound to contain errors, bad links, poor design
taste, cows mooing, sheep attempting to fly (with predictable results), and a general
sense of incompleteness. Bear with me; I'm still learning how to make a website. Also,
I know I don't update anywhere near as often as I should. I've accepted that I'll
perpetually have difficulty keeping this place up to date.
